FeedbackJust wanted to send word of what has been a remarkably successful Earth Week.
The local community of activists is getting larger and larger, and I am surprised
every day by how many people react positively, are already vegetarian, or
are willing to engage us in discussion. There has been a definite improvement
on my campus in just one year; we have had several very popular professors
convert or speak in favor of vegetarianism. I have been handing out large
stacks of Why Vegans to people wanting to distribute them, and have
given out more starter packs in the last week than in the previous year. I
want to thank you for making this resource available to our community, and
also for your articles, which have inspired me to become ever more active
as an educator while taking more reasonable and moderate positions within
veganism.
Editor's Notes and Feature ArticlesIn the upcoming June 1 print version of our newsletter, we'll be running articles about rights, welfare, and tactics for animal liberation. One of the articles was featured in a previous Spam!, and another offered as a link has been updated. Discussions such as these raise fundamental questions. Of course, some very smart people have spent a lot of time thinking and writing about these issues, and any thorough analysis would be many volumes long. So today and next week, we'll try to hint at some of the questions and offer them for consideration.
