Happy New Year!
-Matt Ball Anne, Ellen, and I got back late last night to a slew of orders, requests, messages, mail, etc. We will work hard to fill your orders and get out the requests for the Vegan Starter Pack, but please bear with us as we work to catch up. If you had placed an order before December 18 and haven't received it yet, please contact us.
Health Blog UpdatedJack Norris, RD, has a new feature at his Health Blog! Now, you can click on a link to an Excel spreadsheet that will do calculations to adjust your protein and amino acid requirements according to your weight.
New Year's Donation OpportunityA member has informed us that they will make a $500 donation to Vegan Outreach if we raise $500 to match it by January 21. If you would like to help bring this about, you can donate securely online -- please note "For New Year's $500 matching donation" with your donation. We will then announce in Vegan Spam as soon as we match the grant.
My Brother the Cow
Jay Leno on Mad Cow"I read this in the paper today, economic experts say that the mad cow scare could lower the price of meat around the country at meat counters. What's the thinking here? People going, 'You know, I'm not going to risk dying of a horrible, nightmarish death of a brain disease that rots my mind, unless you knock a couple of bucks off the price.'" We hope to have a mad cow issue of Vegan Spam out by the end of the week.

Our
great thanks to Christopher and Kari for organizing
our talks in San Diego and Phoenix (some feedback
below). We hope that everyone there found it
useful -- or at least entertaining.
