Notes from Vegan Outreach

Happy New Year!

July 1 marks the beginning of Vegan Outreach's new fiscal year. 2004-05 set new records, with more than 675,000 copies of Why Vegan, Try Vegetarian, and Even If You Like Meat... distributed around the world!

The Adopt a College program continues to expand at a rapid pace, too. After 81,679 distributed in the 03-04 school year, dozens of activists distributed well over 200,000 booklets at hundreds of different schools during the 04-05 school year. Based on our estimates, the AAC program has led to more than 7,000 new vegetarians, saving over twelve-and-a-half million animals from the horrors of factory farms and industrial slaughterhouses during the next fifty years.

We would like to take this opportunity to express our deepest thanks to everyone who has made this possible. Direct person-to-person advocacy is neither glamorous, nor immediately rewarding, but without the dedicated individuals out there, every day, there would be much more suffering in the world, and we would be significantly further from an enlightened and compassionate society. And without our thoughtful, far-seeing donors, who have the vision to fund the development, printing, and distribution of Vegan Outreach's literature, none of this would be possible.
