Meet VO’s New Donor Relations Manager, Lisa Rimmert

  Lisa Rimmert

As Donor Relations Manager, Lisa works for you, the wonderful supporters of Vegan Outreach. Simply stated, her job is to help you help animals. She will ensure you have ample opportunities to support VO in spreading the vegan lifestyle, and she will make sure you always know about the tremendous impacts of your giving.

Lisa will manage a number of fundraising campaigns, including the upcoming end-of-year matching campaign during which your donations will be doubled from November 15 – December 31. She also oversees the new Vegan Mentor Program, which is off and running successfully!

Lisa brings to VO more than nine years of experience in marketing and fundraising and has volunteered for a variety of animal protection causes. She has a master’s degree in public relations from Webster University in St. Louis, and a bachelor’s in mass communications from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. Lisa lives with her husband and their rescued dog and cat in Denver, where she performs improv and standup comedy, manages the snarky blog Weird! Why Aren’t You Vegan?, and eats all of the Ethiopian food in town. She has been vegan since 2009 and is thrilled to work for an organization that is so effective in persuading others to move toward veganism.

Say hello to Lisa at LisaR@VeganOutreach.org.

The Number of Vegan Restaurants in the USA Grows

After leafleting Elgin Community College on Monday, John Jungenberg also reports: “I talked to two students [above] who want to reduce their meat consumption after reading the booklets – I gave them encouragement and Guides!

Killed it at the College of Lake County today!! We broke the record by over 500!! We had some fantastic conversations, too – Paul had a couple people tell him they would try going veg!
I also got the email address of someone who wants to get involved. It was a great day all around! Thanks to Paul Picklesimer, Araceli Rodriguez, and Alex Corrigan for joining me!

Cobie deLespinasse and I have a tradition of leafleting on my birthday since it is World Vegetarian Day. It was a fitting day for me to set a personal 1-day record. We ran out of booklets early. Had we had more, I could have given out another hundred or two hundred. It was a great day at the University of Oregon, perfect weather.
Thank you to Hannah Dilday, a UO student who leafleted with us this past spring and this fall. She did a great job and was very excited to be leafleting.
I met a guy who wants to go vegan and had a long conversation. And Cobie met a man who went vegetarian 3 years ago after receiving a booklet.
