The organization surveyed nearly 1,500 four-year colleges and universities in the United States and found that 62 percent of schools serve vegan menu items on a daily basis, up from 28 percent in 2014.…

New Jersey VegFest a Success!
VO was a big hit here in Jersey! So many people gave their names/emails for the e-newsletter, and many, many people want to get involved in their area.
Bill received a leaflet at Stockton University in 2014 and went vegan. He was thrilled to see us and was even more thrilled to have his pic taken for VO [below, left].
Jasmin [below, right] said, “When I was 15 years old my science teacher put a documentary called Food, Inc. on. When I got home I googled ‘veganism’ and Vegan Outreach popped up. You guys helped me go vegan. Ten years and still strong!”

Kent State University had the friendliest students of any school I’ve been to so far; most people accepted a leaflet, and the majority of the remainder declined very politely. A lot of students would even go out of their way to get a leaflet, or they’d start reaching their hand out for a leaflet when they were still 10 feet away from me, as if to say, “You know I want that leaflet!”
I also talked to a girl who was reading Your Choice and said the page about chick culling made her sad, so she wants to go vegan now…it made my day.

Jennifer Kee, my sister Maya, and I handed out 700 booklets at Howard University today. It was my sister’s first time leafleting and I’m so proud! She was super comfortable and told people to “go vegan”! We met a vegetarian and a girl whose sister is vegan. Pretty cool conversations!
