New Hire: Anne Green
Thanks to our generous donors and
dedicated volunteers and employees,
Vegan Outreach has grown by leaps
and bounds in the past five years.
Yet with our growth, the group has
still been run primarily by just
Jack Norris and Matt Ball, with
our employees putting their time
towards leafleting and other forms
of outreach. Vegan Outreach has
reached the point where we can no
longer keep up with everything,
much less expand our programs.
For this reason, we are pleased
to announce that Anne Green, Ph.D.,
is now working for Vegan Outreach.
Anne has a long history in animal
advocacy. She was Outreach Coordinator
for Students for Animal Rights at
the University of Illinois in 1992,
former President of the Board of
Directors for Green Acres Sanctuary,
and former Advisor to the Carnegie
Mellon Vegetarians. Her main efforts
for the past decade have been as
Vice President of Vegan Outreach.
While working full-time as a German
Professor at Carnegie Mellon University,
Anne made day-to-day contributions
to Vegan Outreach in the areas of
strategic planning, reviewing and
editing, and as the de facto
office manager (Vegan Outreach is
run from a spare room in her house).
Her employment at Carnegie Mellon
allowed her to support Jack and
Matt while we launched and established
Vegan Outreach in the 90s. As a
full-time Professor, Anne was able
to provide financial security, shelter,
and free labor and support for Jack
and Matt’s efforts.
Now, thanks in part to Anne's contributions,
Vegan Outreach is a successful and
growing organization, able to employ
Jack and Matt as well as several
full-time leafleters. Having reached
this point, Anne will now dedicate
her time fully to the animals’ cause.
We know that Anne will make exceptional
contributions to Vegan Outreach
and our efforts for the animals.
