March To A Million

In the fall of 2003, a little-known activist by the name of Jon Camp handed out 1,469 booklets over the course of 12 campus leafleting outings. At the time, people wondered, “Does Jon have what it takes? Is there any way he can up his game?”

There was. And he did.

Over the course of the next few years Jon overcame his shyness, buffed up, and mastered the head-tilt. Soon, he was Vegan Outreach’s most prolific leafleter of all time.

After spending the better portion of the last 19 semesters on the road, traveling the country from college to college, Jon is now approaching his one-millionth booklet!

He’s currently at 986,001, and if his tour goes well, he could hit one million in the next few weeks. Stay tuned here and follow us on Facebook or Twitter to stay updated on the March To A Million!

Vanderbilt was great. I had the help of five VIVA members throughout the day. A young woman said, “I already got one – with Ryan Gosling and Kevin the sad chick. It was like oh my God,” in a manner that indicated she was really moved by the booklet. This is the second time this week in which someone mentioned one of the animals in Your Choice by name.
One of the leafleters today was Alex [right]. In October of 2012, I leafleted him. He let me know he was veg. I gave him a Guide to Cruelty-Free Eating, and we briefly chatted. Turns out he went vegan as a result.
