French Canadian Outreach

In mid March, the Montreal Vegetarian Association (MVA) contacted Vegan Outreach to say they would be tabling at the Expo Manger Santé et Vivre Vert – the largest food and health event of the spring in Quebec, with more than 20,000 visitors – but needed a French-language booklet like Why Vegan? to hand out.

Vegan Outreach had a French Canadian version of Even If You Like Meat in PDF format, but for download only. To make hard copies of this booklet a reality, we reached out to both VegFund and the Pollination Project, who each came through with a generous grant and enabled the MVA to print 2,500 booklets for this and future events!

The MVA took this unique opportunity to promote a vegan lifestyle to Quebec. From March 21 to 23, with the help of over 20 volunteers, the MVA distributed hundreds of booklets to health-conscious visitors yet unaware of the level of cruelty on factory farms in Canada. The leafleting at the event was considered a great success by the show organizers and the public.

Thank you so much to VegFund and the Pollination Project, without whom this would not have happened.

We are hoping this printing will be a springboard to doing a much larger, future print run of one of our booklets for use in Quebec. In fact, if you’d like to earmark a donation to a French-language version, please click here to donate and note “French Version.”

I believe that the EIYLM booklet is one of the most complete and easy ways to raise awareness in the importance of adopting a vegan lifestyle. We hope to do more leafleting with this amazing document.
