Vegan Outreach and the 10th Element of Hip Hop Concert and Dinner Series

We’re thrilled to announce that Vegan Outreach is the lead sponsor of Hip Hop Is Green’s 10th Element of Hip Hop Health & Wellness Tour – the first plant-based hip hop tour in history!

10th Element of Hip Hop Tour

Did you know that hip hop is the largest youth culture on the planet, and the music representing the culture is the most listened to genre in the world?

Adding vegan food to the hip hop world can only help animals, and nobody can do that better than Keith Tucker, the founder of Hip Hop Is Green and the 10th Element of Hip Hop Health & Wellness Tour. We love this outreach strategy and are thrilled to team up with Keith!

Check out what happens when Keith serves Field Roast vegan burgers to a room full of meat eaters!

April Leaflets Bring May Vegans: Adopt a College Spring Semester Update!

Spring semester 2016 keeps humming along – Vegan Outreach is speaking up for the animals to students near, far, and everywhere in between!

In the last week alone, we reached students in Maine, New York City, Dayton, Melbourne, Delhi, Toronto, Nuevo León, Norman (OK), New Orleans, Oregon, Winnipeg, California, and many other places. Working together, activists have handed booklets to 679,037 students so far this semester!

Midwest ace leafleter Rachel Shippee recently surpassed a lifetime total of 200,000 booklets handed out – congratulations, Rachel!

Emmanuel Marquez, VO’s Mexico Outreach Coordinator, is enthusiastically starting his extended road tour for the semester, after a large resupply shipment of booklets was delayed by customs. After nearly a year of steady volunteering, Kim Moffatt is doing her first solo leafleting tour, reaching fertile hearts and minds in Utah, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta. Our coordinator Down Under, Sam Tucker, is having a blazing start to his semester, shattering numerous records and getting many local animal lovers involved. Yuri Mitzkewich and intern Doris Schneeberger have been reaching massive amounts of students each of the last three weeks in Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana.

And on the right is Yuri Mitzkewich with Doris Schneeberger: “Ended week 11 crushing it at UWA! Love this pic representing change inspired in the 138 empty bands being held. Each band contained 50 leaflets – 50 being the average number given out to create 1 new vegetarian.”

Thank you to all our hardworking and dedicated staff and volunteers!

Recent Feedback

It was my second year tabling at the Valley Vegfest in Northampton, MA. A woman told me she went from vegetarian to vegan because of a VO pamphlet she got somewhere. There were some good conversations, a bunch of people signed up for VO’s e-newsletter, and I got to meet Ginny Messina! Several people expressed gratitude for the CVA pamphlet because of previous frustrating conversations with religious folks.

Josie Moody and I had a great afternoon doing Pay Per View at Cosumnes River College during their health fair. A total of 42 people viewed the video, and 27 of them took a survey so we can follow up with them in a couple months to see if their diets have changed.

Kaylyn Rhoads and I were thrilled by the success of leafleting the Arnold Sports Festival in Columbus! Thirteen activists leafleted March 4, 5, and 6, handing out a total of 3,800 booklets. We went through 2,500 Compassionate Athlete booklets almost after the first day, they were such a hit!
